Immigrant petition filed in the U.S.
1. The Consular Section receives the hard copy of the approved petition from the National Visa Center (NVC). 1. The Consular Section receives the hard copy of the approved petition from the National Visa Center (NVC).
2. An Information packet is sent to the fiancee visa applicant upon completion of the final processing of the case. 2. No Information packet is sent to the applicant upon completion of the final processing of the case.
3. The applicant should then contact the call center (044-207-70-71 or 1-888-826-2340 if dialing from the U.S.) and schedule the formal visa interview. 3. The appointment date is scheduled by the NVC, therefore the applicant does not need to contact the call center to schedule the formal visa interview.

Immigrant petition filed at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine
  1. A U.S. citizen residing in Ukraine files an I-130 petition for his/her immediate relative.
  2. An Information packet is sent to the petitioner or the beneficiary by e-mail upon completion of the final processing of the case (approximately in 2-3 weeks) when the petition is approved.
  3. The applicant should contact the call center (044-207-70-71 or 1-888-826-2340 if dialing from the U.S.) and may schedule the formal visa interview.

Please note that whenever an applicant wants to re-schedule their formal visa interview, he or she should contact the call center. The Immigrant Visa Unit is no longer responsible for either scheduling or re-scheduling the formal visa interviews for applicants. To successfully re-schedule a visa interview, the applicant must notify the Immigrant Visa Unit of his or her intention before calling the call center. The appointment date will be cancelled and the applicant needs to contact the call center the following week with a request to reschedule his/her appointment. The call center will schedule the applicant for the next available date.

Applicants for numerically limited preference and employment category visas should contact the call center upon the receipt of instructions from the Immigrant Visa Section to schedule their appointment for the SPECIFIC month when the designated visa numbers become available. The availability depends on the date the petition was filed with the USCIS office (the so-called "priority date"). To check if the priority date for your petition is current, please click here.
