Press and Information – February 22, 2006 U.S. AMBASSADOR DONATES MODEL TRAIN TO UKRAINIAN SCHOOL Dnipropetrovs'k -- U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine John E. Herbst presented the children of Dnipropetrovs'k's Boarding School #6 today with the model electric train he personally constructed for his five children. Ambassador Herbst built the train in 1998 over a four to five month period, investing over 200 work hours. "I had a train when I was a boy and thought my kids would like one too. They enjoyed this train for many years, but they are now grown," said Ambassador Herbst. "We hope the school children will appreciate the train as much as my family has." The train set features three engines and cars for two freight trains and one passenger train. Ambassador Herbst added, "This will not be the last train for the Herbst family. When I have grandchildren, I plan to build another set for them." |
