U.S. GOVERNMENT FORENSIC EXPERTS ARRIVE IN KYIV

A U.S. government forensic team arrived in Kyiv today to work with Ukrainian authorities on the identification of the human remains discovered last November in Tarascha and believed to be that of missing journalist Heorhii Gongadze.

The team consists of a FBI laboratory DNA expert and a forensic pathologist from the U.S. Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. They both met today with the Deputy Procurator General and with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to determine the specific work to be done. The team expects to be in Kyiv until April 29.
