The U.S. Embassy's Deputy Economic Counselor Schutte explains that the ECG will not only allow the U.S. Government to gather intellectual property rights (IPR) enforcement information as required under U.S. trade law, but is also meant to be a forum for industry representatives to address IPR protection issues of concern to them.
