U.S. Diplomatic Mission to Ukraine > Federal Bureau of Investigation Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is the primary law enforcement agency of the U.S. Department of Justice. The FBI's mission is to protect and defend the United States while protecting the rights of citizens guaranteed by the United States Constitution. The FBI's focus is the prevention of terrorist acts against United States' citizens and the investigation of violations of federal law. The FBI employs over 11,000 Special Agents throughout the United States and in more than 54 US Embassies abroad. The mission of the FBI's Office in Kyiv is to maintain liaison with principal law enforcement and security services in Ukraine and Belarus through cooperation and joint operations, the FBI and our host country partners effectively and expeditiously address matters of organized crime, terrorism, and general criminal matters that affect all of our countries. Individuals who believe that they may have a situation or information pertinent to this mission are encouraged to contact the FBI at the American Embassy in Kyiv. |
