U.S. Diplomatic Mission to Ukraine > Defense Threat Reduction Office Defense Threat Reduction Office (DTRO) The Defense Threat Reduction Office (DTRO) is a Department of Defense (DoD) office, which serves as the focal point for implementation of Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR) programs and arms control treaty inspections and monitoring in Ukraine. DTRO represents and provides liaison for the Office of Secretary of Defense (CTR Policy and Chemical Disarmament & Threat Reduction), the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), and other U.S. Government threat reduction activities to Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Security and Defense Council, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Economy and European Integration of Ukraine Issues, Ministry of Health, National Space Agency, State Border Guard Service, State Customs Service, State Service for Export Control, and other government agencies. The Chief, DTRO advises the Ambassador and Country Team on all defense threat reduction and arms control treaty implementation matters.
