Banking Services

There are many banks and licensed currency exchange booths located throughout the city. Many stores have exchange booths inside. You should keep your receipt from all exchanges and shop around for the best rate. Exchange rates may vary by up to 3 cents among exchange booths on the same block.

ATMs are available in the larger cities, but most of them pay out in hryvnya. Funds may be transferred by wire; advances may be drawn on credit cards and travelers checks may be cashed at several places. A complete list is included in a separate flyer, but two of the more popular exchange points are listed below.

The foreign exchange desks at the Rus, Lybid, Dnipro and Intourist Hotels may also cash travelers checks. All consular transactions must be made in dollars, but we are not able to exchange currency or cash travelers checks at the Consular Section to facilitate payment for consular services.
